American-Palestinian Teenager Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian youth after completing nine months in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, family members reported.

According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson expressed the family's "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"At this moment, our priority is getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and brutal treatment for months."

The state department said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.

{"US government authorities considers paramount to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," officials stated.

A group of American legislators endorsed a document to the state department and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, had earlier stated his son only confessed to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.

There were no visits nor direct contact following the detention, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to grown detainees, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences including killings.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, report instances of mistreatment and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative their cousin Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said died from beating by settlement residents following tensions last July.

Both young men had worked together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

"We expect US authorities to ensure our family's safety," Mr Kadur said.
