Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Year of Consistency
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She earned almost 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
